If you are in Northern California-check out AGESONG assisted living. They go a long way to build and create environmentally friendly senior communities in Oakland and Emeryville. Thanks for the site. Tom

Tom, we appreciate the tip on these "green" senior residences.  Green Seniors aspires to help make such places aware of one another around the world.  Please, if YOU are in the area, let them know about our website at www.greenseniors.org.

Supporting 'green', et al.:
I am certain that it is a far, far better thing for our nation if the people have their heads OUT of their fuming darknesses.

Please see Letter “Unfooling the people” here:
http://www.durangotelegraph.com/telegraph.php?inc=/10-01-14/soapbox.htm
and for your possible convenience, I show it next:

The past is dominantly serial herd behaviors:
“Real Homes, Real Dow” at
http://homepage.mac.com/ttsmyf/RHandRD.html
Individuals’ experiences were overwhelmingly timing-dependent. People uninformed of these serial herd behaviors are people fooled. This fooling of the people is USA history to date.

Dramatic exception is provided by three recent articles:
“Adjusted for Inflation, Dow's Gains Are Puny”, E.S. Browning, Wall Street Journal, Dec. 28
“The Quiet Danger of Non-Inflation-Adjusted Stock Returns”, S.J. Dubner, New York Times, Dec. 28
“The Real Dow”, R. Chittum, Columbia Journalism Review, Jan. 5, http://www.cjr.org/the_audit/the_real_dow.php

Is unfooling the people at hand? I don’t know, but I surely hope so. I am certain that it is a far, far better thing for our nation if the people have their heads OUT of their fuming darknesses.

Good Afternoon,
Who started green seniors and where?

Joyce Emery

The Blog "Green Seniors" at www.greenseniors.org was started by Keith Farnish of the UK and Joyce Emery of the USA in late 2006.

There is no official membership to Green Seniors--it is a global movement by older people (who may be vigorous fifty-somethings, there is no age requirement) to work for the future of the planet and well-being of the next generations.

This blog attempts to recognize some of the ways green seniors work to better their own communities, as well as the larger environment.

In working for greater sustainability of communities and lowering our ecological footprint, we find satisfaction and a special happiness in life.

This is not a subject I’ve dealt with but what you’ve written in interesting.
