Green Seniors : About Us

Green Seniors was created to allow people of all ages - particularly those who are of an age when they have both the time, and the personal motivation - to work together in large and small groups and networks, and make the planet a better place for everyone and everything in the future.
We believe that the concept of Community is being lost in the face of the rush towards a future that has been defined by corporations and politicians; not by the people that are directly affected by the decisions and actions that they take. We need to reclaim that sense of community so that people feel empowered to put right the environmental damage that has been wreaked on our planet all levels : your street, your town, your state, your country, your Earth.
Green Seniors is a community that links people together, tells stories of the good work that groups and individuals are doing, and hopefully will create a better future for the generations that follow us.
Joyce Emery
Joyce
is a co-founder of and main contributor to Green Seniors, and also writes
as Green Granny, passing on her words of wisdom gained from many years working in the public sector and with all sorts of different people. She is a mother and grandmother who cares
deeply about the world in which her children and grandchildren will grow up.
Keith Farnish
Keith
is a co-founder of Green Seniors, providing technical know-how and over 10 years
experience as an environmental campaigner. His first book, "Time's Up!" was published in 2009.
He runs two other web sites, The Earth Blog and The Unsuitablog, is married with two lovely children, and also finds time to do lots of other sustainable things.
One day he hopes people will listen to his ideas
before it's too late.
George Farnish
George William Charles Farnish died before he could see Green Seniors come to fruition. He cared deeply about the state of society and where it had been headed during his lifetime; Green Seniors partly exists because of his desire that there should have been some way for people like him to be part of a great change.
His biography, "How It Was", which covers the period 1918-1945 in England, can be read by following this link (Note: large download).
